    • Handling - ALWAYS ensure that you tend to your tattoo site with CLEAN and DRY hands. Don’t let others come in contact with the active healing site - especially pets. It is a high risk area for both you and them. Treat it like an open wound, as it is one for at least a few days. Surround yourself with the clean you want to see - clothes, bedwear,  or further bandage/dressing.

    • Damp vs Dirty - Your tattoo can be rinsed, but please avoid soaking in anything. Baths, hot tubs, saunas, natural water sources, and swimming pools are off limits for healing tattoos. They are icky, and can make your tattoo look and feel icky as a result. Mild, unscented soap rinses and thin applications of your ointment of choice are going to be your best friends.

    • Avoid Direct Sun - Unfortunately, we as humans are not plants. The healing process of our skin can be drastically and negatively affected by the sun.. and your tattoo may be altered and look totally less cool. This can even happen after initial healing, so always be aware.

    • Sanitation and Risk - As soon as you leave my studio space, you are responsible for adhering to your personal tattoo aftercare journey. It is your skin, your body, and your decision to maintain it as you please. I can only be as helpful as you allow me to be in this process.  Understand the risks - Infection can occur, but it is ENTIRELY AVOIDABLE with proper care. Reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. If you suspect infection, reach out to a trusted healthcare provider first and foremost.

  • Do not exceed a maximum of 5 days applied. There may or may not be a buildup of residual ink and bodily fluid - try not to disturb it, it is normal. If there are leaks or any bits of exposure of the tattoo site, feel free remove it and resume with standard aftercare as posted above. This bandage can be easily removed under warm running water to avoid too much pulling irritation. Saniderm may cause some overall skin irritation or sensitivity due to the adhesive applied. If this occurs, reach out to me or a healthcare provider.

  • Do not exceed a limit of three hours per bandage. Resume with posted general aftercare guidelines.
